sewing.

today while the littlest girls slept i worked on a mushroom project for a baby i know. or will know soon....

i have had this vision of making a collection of little jingle bell mushrooms and finally had the chance to start working on it. luna did not nap, and was eager to watch and help with my sewing. she helped me stuff the mushroom with wool and put the bells inside of it. then watched as i stitched it shut. when it was done she asked, "NOW what should we make?"

I helped her design a little pillow-beanbag project to sew on her own. she picked 2 different colors of felt and purple thread to stitch. i started the sewing for her, showing her to start on the orange and push the needle through to the purple. she worked on it with complete focus and care. even when wren and olive woke up and tried to play. within half an hour she had completed her sewing and was ready to stuff it. i honestly only had to help her with re-threading the needle when it fell off and turning her stitches the other way at the corners. she filled her pillow up with wool and two bells and ta-da!
