we had a wonderful time saturday night celebrating lily's fifth birthday. it is a such a joy to watch wren play with my best friend's children. maia, lily and wren all played together in the yard, and the mamas had a funny time playing badminton. maia walked around with a cob of corn, sometimes alluring wren with "wreeeeen, i have cornnnnn...". and wren happily followed, mouth open, nibbling at the cob.mike snapped a sweet pic of the three girls taking a tub before bed. it is a treasured photo for us. although there will be future occasions like this and more kiddos in time, these are our first born babes. we try so hard to hold these girls. memories. moments. breaths. to make them last just a little bit longer...erin and ben got lily a dollhouse(and a new puppy who hasn't arrived home yet!), and we all added furniture, accessories, and a family to it. i took a video of lily from the dollhouse window. she is frantically tearing apart the dollhouse as a "tornado" forces the furniture and family to tumble out of the attic. this footage has been making mike and me laugh for the past two days. we especially like the end where the spazzy, oversized, ballerina-barbie sister is flung dramatically at maia. i dont know, maybe this is only funny to us, but i think you should watch it and see....
